ABC Lauds Bill to Increase Competition on Federal Construction Contracts

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today applauded the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's favorable reporting of the Government Neutrality in Contracting Act (H.R. 1671) out of committee. The bill, introduced by Rep. Mulvaney (R- S.C.), will increase fair and open competition on federal and federally funded construction projects by preventing federal agencies from requiring contractors to sign project labor agreements (PLA) as a condition of winning federal or federally assisted construction contracts. Let Solar Reach its Potential

Image
Between 2010 and 2015, the cost of solar installations dropped by 50 percent and as a result, electric utilities, private developers, main street businesses and scores of Montana households invested in solar last year. Flathead, Ravalli and Missoula electric cooperatives each announced community solar projects that will allow individual members to buy one or more panels in a large array on co-op property. Just before the New Year, NorthWestern Energy and the city of Bozeman unveiled plans to build a utility-owned solar array at the city’s wastewater treatment facility. This is the first of three sustainable energy pilot projects NorthWestern is considering around the state. From NRCA Trenton H.
