U.S. Housing Starts Down Sharply

Despite expectations constrained by record cold weather, construction starts in the key U.S. housing market came in at the low end of expectations in January, down 16% from December. Meanwhile, U.S. producer prices rose 0.2% month-to-month, bringing the gain over the past 12 months to 1.2%.
