N.C. Church Rooftop Solar Installation Tests State Law

Faith Community Church in Greensboro, N.C., now has a rooftop solar system and will purchase solar energy from the nonprofit that owns the panels. The arrangement defies state law, which prohibits anyone other than recognized utility companies from selling electricity. It may serve as a test case to bring clarity to the law.
