Construction Industry Likely Will Expand Despite The Fed Increasing Interest Rates

Federal Reserve officials announced Dec. 16 that they unanimously voted to raise short-term interest rates 0.25 percentage points; this is the first increase since June 2006. Dodge Data & Analytics' 2016 Construction Outlook report noted that long-term rate increases likely will be gradual and predicted slow but steady expansion for the overall construction industry in 2016.
