Roof Replacement Permit Fails to Clear Texas City Council

A proposed ordinance that would have required permits for residential and commercial roof replacement projects in Helotes, Texas, has failed to clear the Helotes City Council. The ordinance would have been difficult to enforce in cases where multiple homes have been damaged by hail, said city manager Rick Schroder. "Insurance companies come out for the final inspection. That's why I didn't see a need for this," said Helotes Mayor Thomas Schoolcraft.
