Homeowners' Recovery Fund Shortfall

"Due to a shortfall in funding, there are not sufficient funds available to pay claims received by the Florida Homeowners’ Construction Recovery Fund at this time. The Department will monitor revenues for the Recovery Fund and make payments as funds become available."

  1. I have a judgement for $44,000.00 against a contractor in Florida. I have turned in my construction recovery fund application and everything has been waiting for the board to approve for years. The way the law reads once they approve it they have to pay it shortly after so they are delaying the approval process. Is there a way to be bumped up on the list for approval? I am sure there is a loop hole because I am sure the system was not set up for this to ever happen. I am number 180 in line waiting for money to come in.
