Design-Build Most Prevalent in West Coast and Military Markets

For the first time ever, more than half of construction projects exceeding $10 million are being completed through design-build delivery, according to research conducted by RSMeans on behalf of the Design-Build Institute of America. Prior to the economic downturn, design-build spiked from 29 percent of the nonresidential market in 2005 to 36 percent in 2008. For the last three years, it has held steady at around 40 percent.
