200-Year-Old Home Gets Grant for Handcrafted Cedar Shingles

The Scribner House, New Albany, Indiana's oldest framed house, will get a $7,000 grant toward a cedar shingle reroofing project. The Piankeshaw Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution owns the home, which was built in 1814, and wants to replace the roof with handcrafted, historically accurate cedar shingles.
