U.S. Pending Home Sales Increased 6.1% in May
The number of signed sales contracts on
previously owned homes in the U.S. rose 6.1% in May compared with April, the
National Association of Realtors said. Economists had predicted a 1.5% gain. It
was the biggest one-month increase since April 2010, when first-time buyers
rushed to take advantage of an expiring tax credit.
