Why Retractable Roofs are Less Advantageous for Football Stadiums

Despite their popularity, retractable roofs are less advantageous for most football stadiums. A recent report indicates that through 2012, 66% of games played in NFL stadiums with retractable roofs were played indoors. In addition, retractable roofs cost $25 million to $150 million more than current roofing alternatives.
